Import a class roster

Skip the typing — bring your whole class in from a CSV exported by your student information system.

Supported exports

CommunATI auto-detects columns from common SIS exports including PowerSchool, Maplewood, and Edsby. Any CSV with student names (and optionally parent emails) works.

Steps

  1. Go to Class → Import roster and upload the CSV.
  2. Check the column mapping — CommunATI guesses, you confirm.
  3. Review the preview: new students, matched students, and anything skipped.
  4. Confirm. Re-running the same file is safe — students already added won't be duplicated.

What gets created

  • A profile for each student and their class membership.
  • Optional parent invitations, queued to send if you included parent emails.
