Connecting your LMS (LTI)

If your school uses a learning management system, CommunATI can appear inside it as a tool, so teachers open it without a separate login.

CommunATI supports LTI 1.3. Setup is done once by whoever administers the LMS — a teacher cannot do it from their own account.

What it gets you

A teacher clicks CommunATI inside a course and lands in CommunATI already signed in, in the right organization. No second password.

Setting it up

Integrations → LTI shows the values your LMS asks for: the login URL, the launch URL, the JWKS URL, and CommunATI's client ID. Your LMS administrator pastes those in on their side, then pastes the platform's issuer and deployment ID back into CommunATI.

Both halves must be complete. A common failure is filling in CommunATI's side, never finishing the LMS side, and concluding CommunATI is broken.

Class rosters

An LTI launch identifies the course, so a teacher can pull the class list instead of typing names. That is one-way: CommunATI reads the roster, it does not write back to your LMS.

If your LMS is not listed

The screen shows examples for common Canadian systems, but LTI 1.3 is a standard — any conforming LMS works with the same four values.
