Privacy and your data

CommunATI is built for Canadian schools and communities, so privacy is the default — not an afterthought.

Our principles

  • Minimal by default. Kids are anonymous until a guardian opts in.
  • You own your data. You can export or delete it at any time.
  • No selling. We never sell personal information.
  • Audited access. Privileged actions by staff are logged.

The laws we follow

  • PIPEDA — Canada's federal private-sector privacy law.
  • FIPPA / provincial acts — including Quebec's Law 25 for organizations operating there.

Where your data lives

Data is stored with our cloud provider in Canada where available. Photos and documents are kept in private storage and shared only through short-lived, signed links.
