Volunteers
Volunteers are the people who run the day but are not competing and not staff — parents on the door, alumni scoring, a coach timing heats.
Setting up roles
Volunteer in the admin menu lists the roles for your event: door, scoring, timing, setup, concession, whatever you need. Each role has a number of slots and a shift time.
Create the roles before you invite anyone. A volunteer signing up wants to pick a job and a time, not read a description of one.
Signing volunteers up
Share the event's volunteer link, or invite people directly by email. They pick an open slot and it fills.
On the day
Volunteers check in the same way as staff — see Staff wristbands. A checked-in volunteer shows on the run sheet so you can see at a glance which posts are covered and which are not.
Hours and certificates
CommunATI records hours from check-in to check-out. Students who need volunteer hours for graduation can get a certificate from those records — see Certificates. The hours come from the actual check-in, not from what anyone claims afterwards.
